I think there are two tendencies technical and convictional, therefore the art work carries an expression that has its necessities and circumstances. The obsession of wars and destruction in Iraq was filling up places and surrounding things -where I had to live these wars- and have influenced all life aspects of culture and art. Destruction became the only scenery for everything, it was useless; my life became vanity. Searching for unfamiliarity at that time to renew my artistic vision was a need and still going on. In 1983 came my declaration of breaking all concepts that I have learned during studying art. I still remember when I showed my work in 1984 at the art institute gallery entitled (ugliness and beauty); the audiences asked me why this title: my reply was that you made this not me. Also at that time I was interested in British and French literature; I quote from Georges Braque saying “I don’t deform but I start from the shapes’ nihilism to reform” by then I realized that I did not deform the shapes and the ideas rather I build and break and rebuild from the breaking. I was experimenting to find out and to set up another concept till this became my approach, and not to be influenced by people around me like what George Bernard Show have said “be a man, do not follow my steps”.
There is a vision based on material and soul, therefore I needed to screen out things to help me understanding, as Andy Warhol has said “looking at the texture of my work, you realize that nix is behind all of them”. Probably it is a mistake to say that there is new idea or new form because art is a practice and belongs to human, but there is approaching between both of them until the visions’ veil is removed from our senses to be able to see, to hear, and to learn more. That is why I try to make work as extension to me; actually this is not an answer to a question rather raising another question or many more. I do not believe in inspiration but in improvisation. I am not afraid to open my mind to impossible choices and venture into unfamiliar places to rediscover and reshape them.
I am responsible toward my thoughts and beliefs by getting rid of certainty and searching for my own concept because there are (the perceptual thing and the derived surrounding thing). Throughout my many travelling’s and readings about artists and poets; I found that every worthless has influenced in crystallization of my art concept and life; hence our reality is a conceptual reality. The exploratory presence made me see a lot of John St. John, Charles Baudelaire, Walt Whitman, and Paul Celan; and from Iraq Saadi Yousif, Bader Alsayab, and Fadhel Alazzawi, and Josep Bouys, Eduardo Chilida, Antoni Tapies, Peter Voulkos, John Cage , and Robert Rauschenberg. I have to believe that time is the only element that awaken questions.

No title because things are in state of continuous shaping. The eye is observing materials’ silence and the hand is creating unfamiliar things in an improvising space, between all these the desire becomes improvisational, the experimenting is the meaning in the presence of the horizon, and things are the extension; therefore most of my work has continuity characteristic due to the adventure in unfamiliar places relying on my thinking approach. In the project (extension towards the horizon with desire to improvise) that I have executed during artist in residency program in Qatar 2016 made me take a stand out of all this chaos that we live in; I have focused on the material in order to free it when shaping objects relaying on the evident in the place. I am a maker of things hence we live in existing concepts.
Paul Klee said in his diary “art does not reproduce the visible but makes it visible”. As I pointed out before that art is a kind of assimilation of some subjects in order to create an atmosphere that reminds us of things and signals were derived from human history in the presence of diversity and difference which has established an endless space between the content and the formation units ( images) to uncover the hidden and to create indications throughout the visual, the intellectual richness, and the spectator cultural perception; because art is the only factor that will manumit us from this time; the time of merging fact with delusion, reality with fantasy, and image with subject.
As I said before that art is everywhere and I must deliver these visual texts and concepts to the public and to the world throughout adapting visual elements and the destruction that is surrounding us. I try to establish a new reading for my works since we have become an open window to the world through media and communication and by using all tools to create cultural dialogue environment that is human, abstract, or expressive but also is carrying visual and intellectual image to the world. “The line” is a phantom act does fall confusion in space of its limits “The moment” is a conscious sense of light refracted in the meaning “The middle” is the depth of shape disruptive thinking
